Continue reading In 2010, Pendleton Woolen Mills introduced our Tribute Series, paying homage to four of the American Mills that thrived during the Golden Age of Native American Trade blankets.
The "Trademark A" label (above) was used by Hudson's Bay Company on its blankets around 1890 and the "Stacked" label (below) was used from around 1934-1940.
The Pendleton archives hold a lot of history, some of it dating back to our founder’s opening of his own mill in 1863.
So here is a peek at these very special archival materials.We call them that because we originally wove them to cover the laps of motorists in the earliest days of the automobile.
